Some of his finest inventions include an anti-aging tonic, the time machine, and his mechanical dog Goddard, among other things.

2. Dexter (Dexter's Laboratory)

Our beloved protagonist Dexter might just be a young lad but he is genius enough to both construct and finance his own secret laboratory.

It is in the laboratory where his intellect is put to full use. Dexter ends up developing certain powerful creations such as dimensional portals, giant robot mechs, and an unbelievable dream machine that can help prevent one from having nightmares.

Like every master, Dexter has his minor flaws. He is so busy taking pride in his inventions that he sometimes ends up overlooking the obvious deficiencies that come with them.

However, one cannot entirely blame the daring Dexter for his shortcomings. His little sister, Dee Dee, is more often than not at fault; often bugging him while he is at work.

3. Rick Sanchez (Rick and Morty)

Rick and Morty is probably another animated program that the adults might end up understanding and enjoying more than the kids.

This is because its zany humor and audacity to cast a light on the precarious issues in life often take precedence in its storytelling.

Its titular character, named Rick Sanchez, seems to have been inspired by the character of Doc Brown from the classic 'Back to the Future franchise of feature films.

Gretchen Priscilla Grundler, who often acts as an elder sister to T. J. and Gus, is probably the closest to Spinelli than any other member of the group.

Even though she is incredibly intelligent, Gretchen can also come across as both sweet and naive from time to time.

14. Dr. Benton C. Quest (Jonny Quest)

She does her best to make full use of them while working on her creations. A fearless character, her will to solve problems that others may have overlooked is what makes her stand out from the crowd.

Gadget Hackwrench has managed to invent and design the airplane that is backed by a toy balloon and is, in fact, capable of intercontinental flight.

16. Daria Morgendorffer (Daria)

Daria Morgendorffer is the series' eponymous protagonist. Used to be a supporting character in the popular animated television show, titled Beavis and Butt-Head.

21. Professor Ludwig Von Drake (Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color)

Donald Duck's paternal uncle, Professor Ludwig Von Drake, is one of the most eccentric characters in Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color.

One can even go on to call him a multi-talented personality. This is because this self-proclaimed genius is not only a lecturer but also a scientist and psychiatrist par excellence.

Needless to say, he does not let go of an opportunity to broadcast his wide range of knowledge with regard to different topics.

22. Road Runner (The Road Runner Show)

Road Runner, who is a recurring character in the Looney Tunes franchise, is best recognized by his signature sound, "Beep beep."  While one may associate Road Runner with speed, one cannot deny the fact that he is exceptionally smart and always a step ahead of his rival Wile E.

Out of the two, it is the brown house mouse Jerry who is often seen using his wits and courage to outsmart Tom, the cat.

Jerry may come across as cold and careless from time to time but he wants nothing more than to have fun and live an exciting life.

24. Blossom (The Powerpuff Girls)

Doctor Frink tries to put his various inventions to use as he strives to come to the town's aid in times of grave crises.

While his intention is to safeguard the interest of the town's residents, his inventions somehow end up making things worse than they usually are.

That said, he is also known for uttering words that seldom make sense when he is overexcited about something.

26. Gyro Gearloose (DuckTales)

Gyro Gearloose is an anthropomorphic chicken from the animated television series, titled DuckTales. Even though Gyro Gearloose is arguably Duckburg's most sought-after inventor, not all his inventions work in the way that he wants them to.

He always manages to come up with new and creative ideas, making him outrageously productive. However, sometimes when his creations lack a feature or two, it is Scrooge or Donald who is compelled to bear the brunt of the same as they are often seen buying stuff from Gyro Gearloose.

27. Cyborg (Teen Titans)

One of the five founding members of Teen Titans, Cyborg is a technological expert who is half-cybernetic and half-man. Mojo Jojo is the main villain of the blockbuster Cartoon Network animated series, titled The Powerpuff Girls. Since the girls are powerful, determined, and smart, it would make no sense for their rival to be any less.

Needless to say, Mojo Jojo is a supervillain who has enhanced intelligence and a will to defeat his foes. In fact, he is the only antagonist who has managed to get the better of the formidable girl trio.

Their face-off is one of the most entertaining things to catch in the show. That being said, Mojo Jojo has also used his cunning nature to good effect on rare occasions.

31. Professor Hubert J. Farnsworth (Futurama)

Professor Hubert J. Farnsworth is popularly known as Professor Farnsworth. He is one of the smartest fictional characters from the admired American animated television series, titled Futurama.

He showed grave interest in science ever since he was a teenager and it reflects in his work. Professor Hubert Farnsworth is mainly seen spending a lot of time with his inventions.

34. Princess Bonnibel "Bonnie" Bubblegum (Adventure Time)

Princess Bonnibel "Bonnie" Bubblegum, who is often referred to as Princess Bubblegum, is a great scientist and inventor. It is not surprising then that the ultimate ruler of the Candy Kingdom used her skills to develop her own laboratory and created the Candy People to live in her realm.

Not all her inventions turn out to be as she originally intended them to. Princess Bubblegum is still capable enough of helping Jake and Finn when they are in need of support.

Skips is one of the most pleasant characters of Regular Show. Skips may come across as modest when you first catch him on the screen.

We say so because he is credited with developing one of the most remarkable vehicles of all time the Convert-a-car; something that he is seen driving himself.

Also, what's special about this creation by Professor Pat Pending is the fact that his vehicle is equipped with updated gadgets.

Leonardo, who is a recurring character in the vintage American animated television series titled The Alvin Show, happens to be the assistant of a scientist named Clyde Crashcup.

Benjamin Kirby "Ben" Tennyson is popularly known as Ben Tennyson. He was an ordinary ten-year-old boy until he stumbled upon the Omnitrix.

Omnitrix is a potent watch-like device that enabled Ben to turn into ten different aliens at will. This is something that turned him into a hero of sorts to people around him.

Even though Ben Tennyson could risk coming across as cocky and arrogant at times, one cannot deny the fact that he has an inherent desire to help people.

Big Ears, who is literally known to have big ears, is one of the most likable characters from Noddy's Toyland Adventures.

He has a long white beard and can be seen in a red and pointy cap. Big Ears resides in a toadstool near Toytown.

Not only is he one of Noddy's finest friends but also his only mentor. Whenever Noddy finds himself in a situation of crisis, he tries to confide in Big Ears.

More often than not, the suggestions given by the wise Big Ears work for Noddy and turn him into the jovial chap that he is again.

Needless to say, Big Ears has to be the smartest of all characters in the show. Also, he is arguably the most underrated character to make it to our list.
